Yuan Jiaqi is currently the deputy director of Hubei Provincial Institute of Arts and Crafts, the national first-class artist. In the 1970s, he went to Beijing to follow the famous jade carving artist Wang Shunsen and Wang ling to learn jade carving skills, and later admitted to Hebei Academy of Fine artsYuan Jiaqi is currently the deputy director of Hubei Provinical Institute of Arts and Crafts, the national first-class artist. In the 1970s, he went to Beijing to follow the famous jade carving artist Wang shunsen and Wang ling to learn jade carving skills, and later admitted to Hebei Academy of Fine Arts for further education. Yuan Jianqi’s works combine the essence of traditional art and modern sculpture, forming a distinctive personal jade carving style. His jade works won numerous national awards. He edited “Jade Professional and Technical Training Syllabus”, “Modern Jade Art Thinking”, published personal sets of jade works, held may personal jade exhitibions. He has won a government subsidy of the State Council, won the Hubei Province labor Medal, and was elected to the Youth Committee of Hubei Province, was named as the Young Expert. He was awarded as the “Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts” in 1996, and “Chinese Jade Carving Master” in 2004. In 2006, he was elected as one of the judges of the competition of Fifth Chinese Arts and Crafts, was elected as one of the judges of the fifth Chinese jade carving master contest in the year of 2013. In the same year, he was appointed as senior consultant and expert by several organizations, such as the Chinese Collectors Association Germ Expert Committee, The Chamber of Chinese Commercial Union and Hetian jade Research Committee. In 2000, as Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts and Chinese Jade Carving Master, Yuan Jiaqi initiatively established a personal Museum of Jade Art.
